SOLITUD

"SOLITUDE: That word we run away from as if it were some sort of disease. Some kind of malevolent animal hiding in this empty room to tell us we're alone. Since childhood we are told we're going to meet someone when we grow up with who we're going to fall madly in love. We'll get to the altar and pledge love and eternal respect till death do us part in front of family and friends who adore us. Let's suppose this is the only path to happiness. Happiness with a capital H. But what about people who decide not to have a partner? Is one less of a man or less of a woman if he or she decides to be alone? What if we wish to enjoy our solitude, experience who we are and learn from our solitude?" (by Alma Aparicio)
